God's GRACE

Greetings again from South Sudan:

After a six week visit in the United States, we returned to our South Sudan home. We found that things had continued to move forward in our absence. The director's house was almost completed except for the final finishes. The latrines and bath houses have been started as has the guard house. The guards, Justus, and Alex had even planted some nice flowers and bushes around the houses. The kitchen is being roofed, then they will pour a concrete floor and build a mud oven. Beautiful wooden doors are being installed and the windows will be put in later in the week. Lastly, I have sent a picture of a view of the complex of houses, kitchen, and dining room as it looked the day we returned on July 13, 2013. In just five days there was a HUGE difference. But, you will have to wait on that picture for a while. I love surprises!

Today, we went with a carpenter to measure for the dining room tables, office desk, and closets for the houses. You just don't realize everything that has to be done and everything that is needed for a dream to become a living reality. Justus has been busy getting best prices and ordering sheets and mattresses. Then, of course, there are the beds that will need to be ordered, kitchen utensils purchased, other furniture such as chairs and small tables, mamas and cooks hired and the list continues. It can be a bit overwhelming, but worth every bit of the sweat equity.

I will send another update soon. It was great seeing many of you while we were there. I am thankful for email and Skype that allows communication quickly and efficiently (well, as long as the weather is good). Love to each of you.
